Disney On Ice 4/16/09

I took Riley to see Disney on Ice with Hollye & Amyah. She was so excited on the way to the Reliant Stadium. She kept talking about Mickey, Minnie and the whole gang!

She was TOTALLY into the show!

Me & Riley after the show...SHE LOVED IT!

I got a little tired of carrying her up and down these stairs to go to the bathroom and stuff, so at the end of the show I made her walk up them. It took her forever to get to the top, but she finally made it. She stayed awake all the way home talking about Tinkerbell and Mickey! I bought her a Minnie doll which she gave lots of kisses and hugs to on the way home. She also told Minnie that "they" were going to to night-night with meow meow when we got home. Meow meow is her favorite stuffed animal that she sleeps with every night (actually pronounced Mow Mow). I had given her a bath before we left, so when we got home (at 11:45) I just put her in her jammies and straight to bed. I never heard a peep...she was so good!

Riley & PaPa

My dad came over to see Riley for a little while on Sunday! Riley always get super excited when he's around. She doesn't stop, running around and around the couch and playing nonstop. She does that when cousin Tricia comes over too!

When PaPa was leaving, Riley got to play on his bike while he got his gloves and helmet on. She was sure to push every single button.

Chicken & Green Beans!

So, I tried a new recipe for dinner tonight. It was really quick and easy, and it turned out really tastey! Paul asked, "Why are you taking pictures of it?" And I told him, if it is good, I'm gonna share it. I fixed my plate first and had started eating when he sat down and said, "Well, is it share worthy?" Well, heck yeah it is! If you're looking for a quick, easy, good meal - here's one for you. Recipe calls for 4-6 chicken breast, but I only made 3 because of the size of our family! See below for full recipe. It may not look pretty, but it taste good!

Recipe:
4-6 Chicken Breast
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 cups frozen green beans
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/2 cup water
shredded cheese

Preheat large skillet on medium heat. Season chicken breast with salt, pepper, and onion powder (I also put some parmesean herb seasoning on them). Place in skillet and cover. Cook for 7 mins on each side. Don't overcook them, but make sure they are done. Remove from pan. Pour in 1/2 cup water and cream of mushroom soup. Stir together and add 1/4 tsp dried thyme. Mix in 2 cups frozen green beans. Cover and cook for 7 minutes, stirring often. Replace chicken breast and top with shredded cheese, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes, until cheese melts. Then serve. Riley loved it! She ate all of the chicken (probably because of the cheese) and she ate all but two of her green beans.

Boat Show

Here are a few pics from the boat show today at Reliant Center. These were taken with my camera phone, so not the best quality. Can you believe I forgot my camera???

Day Three (12/27/08)

Day Three (Saturday) Riley woke up in a good mood, and was full of smiles and giggles. Vic, Myra & Gavin came up. Before they got there, Paul and I decided to take Riley for a bike ride down the "hike and bike" trail. It was interesting. There were some sharp turns, narrow bridges, dead ends and stairs?!?!?! We made it as far as we could go. There was a tree down in the middle of the trail, so we had to turn around and go back. Riley actually liked the bumpy ride. On our way back to camp, we stopped at the playground and let Riley play a while on the swing and see-saw. We saw Vic and Myra pull in so we headed back to camp. They set up their camper while Riley took a nap. Later in the day, we went down by the water and took pictures while the sun was setting. That night we had a huge fire because the cold front had come through. It was supposed to get down to 36 degrees, but I don't think it came close to that. Riley got to eat roasted marshmellows for the first time. She was so tired, but wouldn't give it up. She went to bed about 9:30 and slept good all night. She actually slept really good all three nights. We had a good time camping for Christmas. Hopefully we can do it again next year. We packed up everything on Sunday morning; that's when the rain decided to come through. We got home around noon, and I've been doing laundry since then, Yeah!!!!

Day Two (12/26/08)

Day two at the lake was our "Christmas Day" We celebrated with a Ham my dad brought, and I made homemade oyster dressing and marshmellow yams. Angie brought homemade green bean cassarole and a german chocolate cake. My stepmom made roasted asparagus with melted butter. We ate at noon, then opened presents. Riley got a Dora bathtub toy, the Tinkerbell movie, a drum set, a piano, Diago movie, coloring books, colors, markers, playdoh, a jogging suit, 2 new sleepers, and an art easle that turns into a desk with a stool. It ended up being a nice, warm day to celebrate Christmas outdoors.

Day One (Christmas Day 2008)

We left for the lake right after Santa came to our house, and Riley got her Barbie Dream House. We got to the lake about 10:30 or 11:00 and started setting everythin up while Riley played in her new tent that she got for Christmas from Pappy and Mimi (Paul's mom and dad). She did help me decorate the Christmas tree, put up the Christmas lights, and set up the snowman. My dad and stepmom (aka Papa and Memaw) were already there and were camping right across from us. Riley loved the hamock too; she taught it was great fun for about three minutes, then she was fast asleep! She slept in there for about 45 minutes.
